I cannot believe Lunar New Year will be here in less than a month! BUT no qualm for me because I’m ready, so sisters please get ready too!
2021 is over and in a blink, the Year of Tiger (Lunar Chinese New Year 2022) is coming! Being the most important festival for Chinese, we always welcome it with pride, preparing the best for ourselves and love ones. This annual event will also comes with diverse activities and celebrations, where we will present ourselves at the best for a brand new start. What is that something you will do each year when you prepare for Lunar New Year?
Buying new stuffs for myself and home is a must since it symbolizes new beginning to me. I will also be busy doing spring cleaning as it symbolizes removing negativity in the year to welcoming the positive ones in the coming new year. While doing all these, I also make sure to stay diligent with my self care routines such as daily skincare, exercising and getting a healthy meal as much as possible.
Here I’m sharing with you my top 3 must do for my Lunar New Year. Do these resonate something or are relevant to you too?
1. Spring Cleaning
I clean almost everything in the house including the furnitures & walls, as well as removing stuffs that I don’t need anymore. Expired stuffs will definitely be thrown while old clothings and stuffs that could repurpose will be donated to the relative organizations. This is an important procedure to me since I cluttered stuffs throughout the days and might even forgot their existence after putting away. This is a great opportunity to sort, throw & organize – also to remove all the bad luck in the year and welcoming the prosperous ones in the coming new year.
2. New Year Shopping
Shopping is one of my favorite activities all year round but is extra attractive during the festive season because there will be good promotions and discounts running by the companies during this period. In the past, I will always join the crowds in shopping malls and markets, shopping for new clothes, home decorations, CNY tidbits and snacks, as well as fresh plants and flowers for my home. 3. Self Care Routine

This world-class Keppel Bay waterfront precinct sits on the site that was once Keppel Shipyard in the 1960s. Through Keppel’s intensive clean-up efforts, Keppel Bay is now an underwater sanctuary teeming with marine life.
Marina at Keppel Bay was constructed based on an open concept which allows water to flow freely through the entire basin during the change of tides, with nutrients and plankton being carried through the waters as currents flow. As a result, the marina is now home to a vibrant aquatic community of more than 129 different species of marine life. The City Reef at Keppel Bay project is an initiative to spread awareness and encourage conservation of marine life in the marina’s waters.
Some of the underwater flora and fauna in the marina’s waters include cave corals, brightly coloured clown fish, juvenile batfish, tiger tail seahorse and even sea turtles. Marina at Keppel Bay takes an active role in minimising hazards that could potentially impact the environment. Along the pontoons, the reticulated vacuum sewer pump-out system discourages boaters from discharging their black and grey water into the waters.
Boat owners are recommended to install four-stroke engines in their boats, as opposed to two-stroke, to reduce exhaust pollution. They are also encouraged to use biodegradable washing liquids and detergents during vessel-cleaning. The Marina also uses compost fertilizers to prevent damage to the marine life in the waters should there be any wash off from land.
Fishing and installation of fishing traps are also prohibited in the marina. This helps to sustain a well- balanced eco-system and food chain amongst the marine life. These efforts are further reinforced with the launch of the Marina Guide – a book of rules which all boat owners are required to adhere to. These initiatives, among others, reinforce Marina at Keppel Bay’s commitment to environmental protection!
