Despite having a beauty regimen, there is something that skincare and diet cannot help; the lost of volume on facial muscles due to aging or lost of weight. This is where a professional aesthetic doctor is needed to improve my appearance.
ONE OF THE TREATMENT ROOM
Dr Dylan Chau, the doctor at Celevenus diagnosed my face with care and understanding my area of concerns. He then suggested I can give Sculptra a try since I’m looking for a naturally enhanced look that is less frail looking and that my dark eye circles can be lighten. Sculptra is a kind of collagen stimulating medicine that triggers the body to produce its own collagen naturally, otherwise known as ‘The Liquid Facelift’.
Since Sculptra works by replacing lost collagen using the body’s very own collagen stimulation process, the result is not instantaneously like what a filler can do but is known to be longer lasting.

You can wear your make up and pop by for your treatment to suit your schedule because the therapist will do a good cleansing and removal of make up for you. Great service!
APPLYING THE NUMBING CREAM
I was brought to a comfortable room where the therapist cleansed my skin & applied a good amount of numbing cream. A good 30 mins of numbing is anticipated since Sculptra involves multiple injections at area of concerns.
GETTING READY FOR SCULPTRA (pictures taken in Apr 18, my first Sculptra treatment)
Dr Dylan used a white wax pencil and started marking on the areas he thinks should be filled for attaining a fuller, youthful appearance. After the markings, he checked to ensure I’m happy with what he is doing before proceeding with the injections.
HOW SCULPTRA WORKS?
As I aged, there is volume loss in the internal facial tissues such as the loss of bone density in skull, loss of collagen and muscle tissues, as well as fat resorption.
As a result, my skin sags & become droopy. Folds at the cheeks, tear trough, laugh lines and corners of the mouth became more prominent. There is also slight development of fine wrinkles for me.
Sculptra helps to replace & reinforce the skin’s collagen structure within the deep dermis. This reinforced collagen structure provides a foundation that gradually restores the fullness of my facial contour which in term smooths out shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that has been depleted over time.

THE PROCEDURES
Sculptra is injected into the skin. The number of injections per treatment session will vary depending on the degree of correction and Dr Dylan’s decision of what is right for us. For mine, it was a 3 sessions course.
A topical anesthetic will be applied and you may experience injection site discomfort in the treatment process. However, this varies from person to person and you should not receive treatment if you have an active infection or skin inflammation near the planned injection site.
After each treatment session, I experienced slight swelling, which can give me a preview of how I may look once my shallowness is filled. The swelling on average subsides within a few days and the wrinkles will temporarily reappear as the gradual process of collagen replacement continues.

Following an average of three treatment sessions over a few months as what Dr Dylan recommended for me can produce a more natural, younger looking appearance that is potentially long lasting. During the course of treatment, Dr Dylan may adjust your treatment plan to help you reveal a natural-looking appearance that’s uniquely yours too.
TIPS & THINGS TO TAKE NOTE
Some patients may experience injection site pain, redness, bruising, bleeding, itching, or swelling. Other side effects may include the delayed development of non-visible, small bumps under the skin sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area.
It is better that you can take SinEcch a week before your procedure to reduce the side effects . This is not necessary but can be an aid for someone who is prone to bruising.
Also, try to stop your skin supplements including fish oil as they have blood thinning effect. When you blood is thinner, you will bleed a little more during the treatment.
AFTERCARE (MASSAGING BY THE THERAPIST)
After each treatment session with Sculptra, give yourself a good but gentle facial massage. This easy step will let you achieve better result with Sculptra if you are disciplined with it. Massage the treated area for 5 minutes 5 times a day for 5 days after treatment is highly recommended by Dr Dylan.
MY RESULT AFTER 3 SESSIONS OF SCULPTRA IN 5 MONTHS (Apr to Sept 18)
The result? A refined, more youthful looking appearance over time that are potentially long lasting. Look at my eyes area, temple and laugh lines! These are something that cannot be digitally enhanced but only with the help of Sculptra.
ON MY FINAL THOUGHTS
With my 3 sessions of Sculptra at Celevenus, I must say it does work!
The work of Sculptra is so natural but noticeable, I get compliments for looking better in appearance rather than I look unnaturally beautiful (this could happen with traditional fillers). The final result from my 3rd session of Sculptra done in Sept 18 needs another 3 months to take effect but I’m already very happy with the result I have gotten till date.
The downpoint of Sculptra? It is a little priceier than normal fillers and it took longer to cultivate the result. But with a final beauty look that is more natural and long lasting, Sculptra definitely have my vote. Considering myself as a foodie and beauty blogger who is constantly on the go without proper rest (I sleep like 3 hours daily) and diet (I eat all sorts of food 24/7), the beauty and plumping effect of Sculptra seemed to be good already.
